Flannel Sheets are a Great Option for Cooler Weather

Cooler weather is upon us.  The days are getting shorter and nighttime temperatures here in Northern California are dipping into the forties.  Although we may miss summer and the extended daylight hours, the cooler weather does promote better sleep.  Experts generally agree that indoor temperatures of approximately 65 degrees or thereabout do help us sleep better.  During the warm days of summer that temperature is almost impossible to achieve without running the air conditioner all day and all night.  For most of us that’s just not an option.

But if these cooler temperatures make your sheets feel cold or clammy you may want to consider flannel sheets.  Flannel sheets aren’t for everyone, especially if you tend to sleep hot.  But if you like a cozy and comfortable feel you may want to check out our selection of Malouf Portuguese Flannel sheets.

These sheets are softer to the touch and warmer than percale of sateen cotton sheets.  Some flannel sheets can feel a little stiff after washing but the flannel in the Malouf sheets are made in Portugal and are crafted to be comfortable and durable and pill-resistant.  They may quickly become your favorite sheets, ready to greet the cooler months year after year.

The Malouf Portuguese Flannel sheets come in four colors, white, pacific, oatmeal and coffee. These neutral tones pair well with blankets and bedspreads to make your bed both inviting and attractive.

Malouf provides detailed care instructions for their products on their website.  They suggest washing your sheets before first use.  They also advise washing your woven natural fabric sheets separately from any polyester fabric to prevent pilling.  For more care instructions click here.  The Malouf sheets come with a 5-year warranty for materials and workmanship although some limitations do apply.

When it’s time to put away the flannel sheets store them in a cool, dry area that is well ventilated. Consider storing you linens wrapped in white cotton or acid free paper.  Storing in plastic may yellow the fabric.   It may take a little extra effort to care for these sheets but we think it's worth it.

And if you purchased a mattress from The Healthy Bed Store you receive a lifetime 20% off on bedding, giving you one more reason to try the Malouf Portuguese Flannel Sheets. Your only problem may be that they are so comfortable you won’t want to get out of bed in the morning.

Come in soon to see the Malouf flannel sheets or any of our collection of bedding accessories. If you can’t find what you are looking for in the store we can always order products to be sent directly to your home.  We’re located in the Broadstone Shopping Center, 2690 East Bidwell Street, Folsom, CA 95630.
