Is your mattress slipping through the slats in your platform bed?

Most platform bed frames have a space between the slats of around 2.5 to 3 inches. This is fine for solid latex or memory foam mattresses but if you purchased a bed with coils you may have noticed that the coils are peeking through the slats.  Not only is that bad for your mattress it may also be disturbing your sleep as your mattress may tend to shift.

You like your mattress and you like your platform bed but the two just don't seem to be getting along.  Is there a simple solution?  We think so.  We would recommend the Supplemental Foundation Layer (SFL)™ by OMI.

The SFL pad is made from densely woven coconut coir fiber and is only 1" thick. This pad sometimes called a coir bed rug will fill in the space between the slats and provide proper support for the coils.

Or maybe you have a solid surface foundation like a waterbed or a mattress on plywood but are worried about the lack of air flow.  The SFL pad will allow for air circulation as it lifts the mattress up approximately an inch above the solid surface and will prevent the growth of mold.

We recommend the Supplemental Foundation Layer (SFL)™ by OMI because of two unique features that you will not find from other suppliers: rounded corners instead of square pointed corners, and the SFL is encased in a certified organic cotton sock.

The (SFL)™ by OMI is available in the following sizes:

  • Twin
  • Twin Extra Long
  • Full
  • Queen
  • King
  • Cal King
