Celebrating the OMI Duo Customizable Mattress

Many of the latex mattresses that we sell at the Healthy Bed Store are customizable.  That means that you choose the layers that work best for you.  Our customers appreciate the ability to select their layers.   And for Queen, King and Cal King mattresses the layers can be split so that one side can be firmer, or plusher than the other, allowing couples to select their own comfort preference.

One of the benefits of a customizable latex mattress is its versatility.  If you need to swap out a layer later on to change the feel of your mattress you're able to do that without having to purchase a completely new mattress. And a latex mattress is built to last so you know you're getting a mattress that suits you now and can also be adapted to suit you later.

The first customizable mattress that we sold was the Organicpedic Duo by OMI, and it is still a favorite choice for customers looking for a certified organic mattress.  The Duo is comprised of three – 3” inch layers of organic Dunlop latex.  OMI requires a firm or medium base layer for warranty purposes but the middle or top layers can be firm, medium or soft Dunlop latex.  For an additional charge you can also add a sculpted top layer that is great for pressure relief and promotes better air circulation.  The Dunlop latex is encased in an organic woven cotton cover filled with organic wool as the flame barrier.  The total height of the mattress is approximately 10”

Each Duo is hand made in OMI’s GOTS-certified Northern California factory.  The factory is a smoke-free and fragrance-free environment.  OMI adds an additional step and ozone sanitizes raw materials including the certified organic wool and certified organic cotton used in the Duo.
